Vechur cow

The animals are extremely small in size and have compact body. The following are the common features of Vechur cattle.

Colour: Light red, Black, White, Grey (Solid colour)
Head: Long with narrow face
Horns: Generally small and thin, and in some cases extremely small and hardly seen outside
Ears: Horizontally oriented with 15 – 17 cm in length
Eye lids: Black or brown
Dewlap: Small
Hump: Present, prominent in males
Legs: Short
Tail: Long, almost touching the ground
Udder: Well attached squarely placed with small tapering teats, milk vein well developed
Naval flap: Small
Sheath: Tucked up
Skin: Smooth and glossy
Body Wt.: Cow (95 – 150 kg) Bull (130 – 200 kg)
Height: Cow (81 – 91 cm) Bull (83 – 105 cm)

    my name is Anil Kumar from Andhra Pradesh, Chittoor. I am passionate in indigenous cows especially dwarf breeds. I am rearing Punganur breed cows.

    I am very interested on Vechur cow and searching for good breed cow and bull for my Goshala.

    I would like to request you to suggest/help me in getting Vechur cow from your institute or by other source.
